Accessibility

What we do to keep this site usable for everyone, and how to tell us when it is not.

Last updated 16 August 2026

Our approach

We want anyone to be able to find an electrician and request an estimate, regardless of how they use the web. We build against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our reference standard.

We have not yet completed a formal third-party audit, so we are describing what we have built rather than claiming certified conformance.

What we have built in

  • Semantic headings in order, so screen readers can navigate by structure
  • Text alternatives on images that carry meaning, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology
  • Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA for body text, including deliberately avoiding yellow text on white
  • Keyboard access to navigation, forms, and the estimate request dialog, including focus trapping and Escape to close
  • Form fields with visible labels, inline validation messages, and errors announced next to the field
  • Accordions built on native HTML disclosure elements, so content is present whether expanded or not
  • Layouts that reflow to small screens and tolerate browser zoom

Known limitations

Some areas need more work, and we would rather say so than imply the site is finished.

  • Animated background effects on the home page are decorative but do not yet respond to a reduced-motion preference
  • Some third-party content we may add later, such as embedded maps, may not meet the same standard
  • No formal audit has been carried out by an external specialist

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site stops you from doing what you came to do, please tell us. Include the page and what happened, and we will fix it or find another way to help you.

  • Email: nnetoelectric@gmail.com
  • Phone: (508) 963-9357

If it is easier to arrange work by phone than through the site, call and we will take the details that way.
